The key to praying for your community is to first start with praise and thanksgiving. Then, intercede for the community–specifically for those who don’t know Christ. Ask God to break down barriers and open hearts. When praying for individuals you must have specific information like name, address, and phone number. following up on prayer requests is vital to a healthy prayer life.

Get to know your community
Get to know your community by attending events, festivals, and concerts. Go where the people are! It’s also important to get to know the local businesses and the people who work there.

The city website
The chamber of commerce website.
These are all great places to look for community events because they are usually well-advertised and easy to find. Another good place to look is on bulletin boards at local businesses or the library.

Build Relationships
build relationships by being friendly and helpful. Get involved in the community. Volunteer for local events and projects. Be a good neighbor. Show genuine interest in others, and let them know you care about them. Serve your community in practical ways. Look for opportunities to help meet needs. Serve with your time, talents, and resources.
