With the latest update, SWAPP has introduced a powerful Events feature that allows churches to easily create, manage, and share events with their congregation. This step-by-step guide will walk you through how to create, edit, and manage events within the app.

Step 1: Access the Events Tab

Once you log in to the SWAPP dashboard, you'll notice the Events tab on the menu. This tab has been enhanced to provide more functionality, allowing you to manage all your church events directly from the app.

Step 2: Create a New Event

  • Click on the Events tab.

  • Select Add Event to begin.

  • Enter the Title and Description of the event. This could be anything from a Sunday service, outreach event, or special conference.

Step 3: Set the Date and Time

  • Choose the Start Date and End Date for your event. If the event is recurring, select how often you want it to repeat (daily, weekly, monthly, or annually).

For example, if you are scheduling a recurring service or an event like a conference, you can set it to repeat weekly or annually.

Step 4: Add Recurring Events

For events like regular services or meetings that occur on a repeating schedule, you can:

  • Set the reoccurrence (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).

  • Specify an end date to stop the recurrence at a specific point in the future. This is useful for things like a service schedule that resets each year.

Step 5: Edit or Delete Events

If you need to make changes to an event:

  • Click on the event within the Events tab.

  • Select the day wit the event and click on the event to adjust details such as the title, date, or description.

If necessary, you can also delete the event using the delete option.

Upcoming Enhancements

The Events feature is constantly evolving. Here’s what’s coming soon:

  • Seamless Notifications: In future updates, event notifications will be sent directly to church members’ mobile apps, keeping them informed of any upcoming events.

  • Community Event Promotion: Soon, you will be able to promote events directly to the broader community through social media, increasing attendance and engagement.

  • RSVP Functionality: The ability for members to RSVP to events is coming soon, allowing you to track attendance more effectively.

  • Ministry-Managed Events: In a future update, individual ministries within your church will be able to create and manage their own events, giving them autonomy to handle gatherings, meetings, and outreach programs specific to their group.

Step 8: Access Events on the Mobile App

For church members, the events are visible directly on the Mobile App:

  • Members can scroll through the church’s calendar to view all upcoming events.

  • They will soon be able to RSVP directly from the app, making event participation and organization even more streamlined.

  • Eventually the events will show up in the Mobile app News Feed too.

Additional Features

  • Profile Enhancements: Administrators can also add giving links to their profiles, allowing members to donate through the app. More profile customization features will continue to roll out in future updates.

  • Interactive Prayer Requests: Members can submit prayer requests directly from the app’s homepage, which displays like a social media feed. This feature encourages interaction, as members can comment and pray for one another.

Conclusion

The SWAPP Events feature is a powerful tool for keeping your church connected and engaged. From setting up recurring services to special conferences, you can now easily manage all your church events in one place. As the app continues to evolve, features like RSVP tracking, notifications, and ministry-level event management will make it even easier for churches to organize, promote, and execute successful events.

Stay tuned for more updates, and keep using SWAPP to grow and manage your church community!
